The public authority read as S.S.S.D.A.College of Arts & Tech.,Sankhameri came to the limelight categorically in the early nineties i.e.in 1991 with the local initiative of some young and dynamic emerging personalities with a prudence and farsight of placing an ignored but a bulk of young buds living in the remotest villages at places of high social recognition. At the outset it was accorded permission and Recognition for opening subjects likeEnglish,M.I.L. History, Pol. Science, Economics,Sanskrit, Odia,Education and a new subject Logic subsequently in the year 1994-95 with the Council of Higher Secondary Education (O) as its affiliating body.

   However the Governing Body rather preferred to go simultaneously with the Degree wing besides the +2 cell in the year 1994 which was shut down later on with a prohibitory order of Utkal University, Vanivihar. It has been imparting education in +2 wing only since then incessantly. Now it has been brought to GIA fold with 40% Block Grant coverage.
