Saraswat Junior Mahavidyalaya Godbhaga Sambalpur was established in the year 1991 at Godbhaga Camp under  Dhankauda  Block, Sambalpur. It is a +2 Arts College .The Govt. accorded first recognition and affiliation to the institution in the year 1992-93. The first batch of +2 Arts students appeared the Annual H.S. Examination in 1993. The college is permanently recognized by DHE and also permanently affiliated to CHSE, Odisha, and Bhubaneswar.

     This is a Co-educational +2 Arts institution having 128 seats in the subject (Optional) Odia, Pol. Sc., History, English, MIL (Odia) and 64 seats in Education and Economics.

     Though it was established in 1991, the Department of H.E, Govt. of Orissa has sanctioned 40% GIA to the employees in the shape of block grant by G.O 2008.

     As per the instruction of DHE Office Order No. 2G-377-2011 111/ 38341 and Memo No. 381342 Dt. 05.09.2011, the Director of Higher Education has been pleased to approve the teaching and Non-teaching posts and Governing body has been declared as defunct. The sub-collector, Sambalpur resumed the charge of President of G.B and Principal as secretary of the College. The present strength of the college is 261 with 06 Nos. of teaching staff members and 5 Nos. of non-teaching staff members. More than 65% of the students belong to Girls students. Let us think for the better prospect of the institution as well as the public.
