About Regional Director of Education Sambalpur

 Government in the Department of Higher Education, Orissa was establish three composite Regional Directorates at Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Sambalpur vide its Resolution No-5256/HE.dated 29.01.1997 to look after the matters relating to both Higher Education Department and School & Mass Education Department for streamlining the administration and expeditious disposal of various matters in the filed of Education.

     In the said Resolution it was stipulated that the Ministerial Employees, i.e. Junior Assistants, Senior Assistants, Personal Assistant, Senior Stenographers, Senior Accountants and Auditors would come from the existing Directorates with those of the Directorates in these grades would constitute a common cadre. The other employees in Class-III & Class-IV grade, i.e. Junior Grade Typist, Junior Grade Diarist ,Despatcher, Peons and Sweeper-cum-Chowkidar etc. shall be recruited at the Directorate level under common cadre as per rules in force of the State Government. The Additional Director re-designated as Regional Director shall be the disciplinary authority of all the employee in these grades.

     Since difficulties were experienced with regard to recruitment of staff in the Regional Directorate, Government have been pleased to decide as follows:-

     The composite Regional Directorates at Berhampur, Bhubaneswar & Sambalpur will be headed by an Officer of College Branch (Grade-I Principal) carrying pre-revised scale of Rs.4500-6300/- and he will be designated as Regional Director. He will enjoy the status of Heads of the Department subject to paramount control of Director, Higher Education.

     Ministerial employees i.e. Junior Assistants, Senior Assistants, Personal Assistant, Senior Stenographers, Senior Accountants and Auditors, Typist, Diarist etc. of each Directorate will constitute a separate cadre of Heads of the Department status having no linkage with the common cadre of main Directorate.

     The Regional Director will be the appointing and disciplinary authority in all Class-III and IV employees of the concerned Regional Directorate (i.e. Junior Assistants, Senior Assistants, Personal Assistant, Senior Stenographers, Senior Accountant, Auditor, Junior Grade Typist, Junior Diarist, Despatcher, Peon, Sweeper-cum-Chowkidar etc.)
