The dawn of the education awareness in Higher Education ushered in the horizon of Polasara, a cultured & beautiful area in the District of Ganjam by swearing the opening of the college in the name of Polasara Science College, Polasara by showing the provision of Intermediate of Arts & Commerce in 1979 and I.Sc. in 1983. The college was inaugurated on 15th August 1979 and at the Veda Mandira by late Kanhu Charan Nayak Ex-MLA, Kodala Assembly Constituency.
Now it is running its 32nd eventful year of life by the sufficing Higher educational needs in the Panchayat Samiti area and the area nearby.
During 1989-90 the college received permission from Govt. of Orissa and affiliation from Berhampur University to open Degree course in Arts with 64 seats each in History, Political Science, Economics and Oriya. The intake capacity was doubled during 2007-08 with permanent recognition from the Govt. and also University affiliation. It also provided the degree students two Honours subjects, viz. History & Political Science with 16 seats each.
The all round development of the college is the be all and end all of the students, staff and the local people.
Theme of our college is to "open the world of knowledge for our dear students and to provide all possible access to achieve success". Established in 1979, this college has been catering knowledge & wisdom, spreading the light of education and opening the path to success by developing personality of our dearest students.
