Panchpir Women's College, Karanjia is situated at the outscrit of the Karanjia notified area in the subdivision of Panchpir in the District of Mayurbhanj. This is the only Women's College in this subdivision, namely Panchpir. That is the way the founder's named ths college as "Panchpir Women's College". In the year 1986 under the leadership of Mr. Rajan Sahu the then Principal of Karanjia College Mr. Surjyamani Behera and other personalities of this area started this college. Govt. has seen pleased to allot 79 acres of Govt. Land free of cost. Since then the college has not looked behind.

The college started with 41 no. of student, 6 teachers and 5 nos. of non-teaching staff with +2 Arts classes. Over the years the contineuos growth has now made the college open the +2 science stream in 2009-2010 with the subject of physics, chemistry, math, biology along with the compulsory subjects. At present nearly 286 students are reading in this college, 13 nos. of teaching staff and 18 nos. of non-teaching staff are rendering their sincere services for all round development of this tribally dominated college.

The college stands in a sprawling area of 7 acres of land with a two-story building, laboratory buildings, library with invaluable books of reference, one general hostel and one hostel for ST and SC girls student.

The college is now leading towards another success by endevouring to establish another block and boundary wall and nurturing continuos plantation in the college to make environment green and clean. The institution also provide moral educaton to its student through classes of yoga and through environment science, students become environment-consious.
