Established in 1983, Panchayat Samiti College, Belpara is located hardly a km off the town of Belpara, in a quiet, scheduled place by the main road. Having imparted education in Intermediate Arts and subsequently +2 Arts for six years, it inducted Bachelor's Degree in Arts with an affiliated strength of 128 in 1989. In response to the demand of local people, education in Science at +2 levels was inculcated in 1992. Further, the College started providing honours teaching in English, History, Education and Political Science from the year 2006-2007. Panchayat Samiti College, Belpara boasts as the premier institution in Higher Education in Belpara Block. No wonder it is also the first higher educational institution in the Block Having come under section 12 (B) and 2 (F) of the UGC, Act in 2009 the College is likely to scale greater heights out of the grants allocated by the UGC. However, the journey of twenty eight years has been a journey of challenge, full of trials and tribulations. But no matter how hard was the challenge, the college never deterred from its objectives and duties.
