Palli Pragati Mahavidyalaya has been established in the year
1997 at the village Bankapur-Dohelpada in a beautifully surrounded natural
scenic environment by a group of people, interested in the field of education. The
area where this institution is established is an educationally back ward area
under Khariar block of Nuapada district. The goal of the institution is to
facilitate higher education to the needy and poor ST/SC students of this
locality. Since its inception it has been imparting education at +2 level. The
college is permanently recognized by Department of Higher Education Government
of Odisha and permanently affiliated to Council of Higher Secondary Education,
Odisha. This is a co-educational +2 institution with 64 seats in Arts stream.
It was established in 1997, till now it is managed by a registered Governing
Body duly approved by the Regional Director of Education (RDE), Sambalpur.
Recently this college is enlisted in the Block grant under 662 categories. The
present student strength of the college is 128 with 05 teaching staff and 05
non-teaching staff members. The college is run by private management and it has
successfully completed fifteen years of hard journey with the involvement of
it's well-wishers, parents, local leaders, dedicated staffs and some generous
donors who have been donating time and again for survival of the institution.
The institution is a light post for the under developed tribal backward region
of Odisha coming under KBK districts.
