About Athmallik College

Athmallik College, Athmallik, Angul Orissa  was established in the year 1978 with the help Co-operation of the local elites and some benevolent persons of Athmallik Town and Athmallik Panchayat Samiti area in the beginning it imparted instruction in I.A. class with 64 seats in Mahendra High School, Athmallik campus. After two years it was shifted and started functioning in its own campus spreading over 10 Acres of land, three kilometers from Athmallik Town.The College is recognized by the Govt. of Odisha was first affiliated to Sambalpur University with the change of education pattern the College was affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary Education (Odisha) from the session 1983-84 to impart instruction for +2 Courses in Arts.

The traditional B.A Course was introduced in the year 1980 which was converted to +3 Arts Course from the academic session 1986. Both the Traditional B.A. course as well as the +3 Arts course was duly recognized by the Govt. and affiliated by the Sambalpur University. The +2 Science course was introduced in the year 1993-94 session along with the Hons courses in History, Pol.Science, Economics and Odia. But due to the poor admission in Odia Hons, it was aboloshied. The +3 Science courses is opened in the present academic session i.e. 2011-12 with 64 seats, 32 seats each in P.C.M. and C.B.Z. Group. The College is enjoying full aided stratus since 1988. There is no Governing Body approved by the Government. The Sub-Collector, Athmallik is the Ex-officio of President and the Principal is the Exofficio of Secretary of the G.C and discharging all the powers and functions of the Governing Body. The present students strength of this College is about one thousand with 20 teaching staff And 27 Non-teaching staff. The college is in its growing stage, it has to strive hard to become one of the famous institutions of the State. All of us most worked together and co-operate with the administration to make our dream real one.
