Jawaharlal Nehru Junior Mohavidyalaya, Balianta is established in the year 1989. The college is named after the great freedom fighter, scholar, eloquent speaker and 1^st prime minister of India, jawahalral Nehru. It is situated three kms away from Hansapal Chaka on NH-5 and famous Jayadev Pitha is 16 kms away from this College. It introduced +2 Arts in the year 1989 with 128 seats, +2 Sc. In the year 1999 wth 64 seats. The College is permanently recognized by the Govt. of Odisha and has got permanent affiliation to C.H.S.E. Odisha. There after from the session 2008-09 seats increased from 128 to 125 in +2 Arts stream & 64 to 128 seats in +2 Sc. Stream with 32 seats in IT subject. It is surrounded by the river Kusabhadra in the South, Govt. PHC in the east. Here N.S.S. both (Boys & Girls Wing) activities and camps, Red cross camp, blood grouping camp, blood donation camps are hold through out the eyar. Examinations like halfyearly, annual & sometimes unit tests are conducted systematically. Remedial Classes, Internet, Yoga, Env. Edu are provided to the students for their upliftment as well as for development.

     This institution has not provided the minimum infrastructural facilities like class rooms, toilets, Play Grounds, common room for staffs and girls students, drinking water, library, laboratories, plantation for a peaceful and beautiful env.
