The college is named so as it is the outcome of the long
cherished dream of the people of this locality in general and with the
leadership of Krushna Mohan Behera,Ex-chairman of the G.B. Nagar Block, Khunta
in particular. Anchalika Jr. Mahavidyalaya is situated in such a place which is in the
midst of G.B. Nagar Block, Khunta and in the south east corner of the district
of Mayurbhanj. It is 48 Kms. away from the district Headquarter Baripada &
18 Kms. away from Kaptipada sub-division, Udala.
Anchalika Jr. Mahavidyalaya is established in the year 1991 with only +2
Arts Stream having a sanctioned strength of 128 seats. Later on due to the
heavy craze and demand of the guardians of this locality, it opened +2 Science
Stream with 64 Seats and there is an enhancement of seats from 128 to 192 in
Arts streams in the year 1992. At length in the year 2003, a Vocational wing
has been mingled with the college as per the decision of the Govt. of Odisha.
Over the years of continuous growth, the college is now a full-fledged one with
15 nos. of teaching staff & 21 nos. of non-teaching staff, who are
rendering their services for the all round development of the institution.
The enthusiastic public, co-operative alumni & the
active G.B. of the college extended their maximum co-operation in all positive
thinking's, for which the college is now going to be an ideal & exclusive
+2 Junior college of this locality named as ANCHALIKA JR. MAHAVIDYALAYA,
PURUNABARIPADA.
