About Sailabala Womens College Cuttack

This institution started as an intermediate college for women in the year 1913. It was raised to the status of the First degree college for women in our State in the year 1946. Since 1952, it is functioning in its present premises, the residential building of Utkal Gourava Late Madhusudan Das which was gifted to Govt. of Odisha by his daughter Shailabala Das. The college has been named after her.
     The college now imparts instruction for +3 Arts (256 seats), +3 Science (160 seats) degree. There is post graduate teaching facility leading to M.A. degree in Home Science (48 seats), History (48 seats), and Sanskrit (24 seats). The above graduation and post graduation courses are affiliated to Utkal University. There is a separate Shailabala Women's Junior College which imparts teaching for +2 Arts (256 seats), +2 Science (256 seats) and +2 vocational (24 seats) courses affiliated to Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha. 
     Shailabala Women's College, Cuttack has been accredited at the A level by the Executive Committee of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which is an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission.
