Our College, Tihidi College, Tihidi came into being in the year 1986 with a generous donation given by people of this locality including the contributions made by several other organizations , association and some renowned other personalities in  and outside the state. Late Kamalakanta Lenka , the founder secretary of the college sacrificed his political career to see the college stand on its own leg.

     The college, from the very beginning, adopted co-education in +2 Arts, two other streams, Commerce And Science were opened later. At first, the institution was functioning in a thatched structure. It was shifted to the existing building in the year 1993.

     The college has been recognized by the Govt. of Odisha and affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha.

     The Vocational Stream of the college started in the year 2004.

     It is worthy to note that the college is enjoying full aided college stating since 1994.

     This year (2011-12) the college completed its 26^th year. The present student strength of the college is about 1000 with 22 Teaching Staff and 15 Non-Teaching Staff. Despite the fact that the college is in its growing stage, it has made much headway over the years and it is striving hard to emerge as one of the prestigious institutions in the state. The present growth and vigor at the college has been possible thanks to the spectacular students strength and their scintillating success in the examinations.
