Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose College, formerly known as Trust Fund College, Sambalpur was established in 1972-73. It is affiliated to the Sambalpur University and has receive Government concurrence since 1972-73 till 31.05.1975. The college used to receive grant in aid from the government from 01.06.1975 it came under direct payment scheme. At present there is teaching facility up to degree stage in Arts and Commerce courses only.
The College was functioning in V.S.S. Hall, Nari Seva Sadan previously. Now the college has its own building on the bank of river let Harod. The foundation stone for it was laid by Sri. J. B. Pattnaik the then Chief Minister of Orissa.At present there is no hostel or recognized mess for the students. There are two quarters for lecturers and for office's staff of the college. The Government of Orissa took over the Management of the college from the session 1982-83 with the existing provisions of courses of studies with effect from 10.07.1982 of EYS, Govt. of Orissa.
