Meghasan College, Nudadiha, in the block Kaptipada, Dist: Mayurbhanj has been named by the famous Meghasan Hill of the Similipal Biosphere which is surrounded by the natural greenery and beauty of the clouds. In the year 1987 some enthusiastic and dynamic youth of the backward and tribal dominated locality felt the need of higher educational facilities in this locality as there was no suitable communication for the local boys and girls in particular to avail higher studies. To provide such facility at their doorstep, the then ambitious and energetic noble individuals resolute to establish the College with lots of hardship and obstacles. At first the College started with +2 Arts/Commerce with 128 & 64 no. of seats having minimum infrastructural facilities. The staff members both teaching and non-teaching shouldered all shorts of responsibilities and troubles to have a healthy start of the College in a need based area like Nudadiha village. The local community from diverse sections of the society came forward and join their hands for all shorts of assistance for smooth running of the College with a specific mission and vision. Over the years continuous growth has now made the College full fledged with +2 Arts 128 seats, +2 Science 128 seats and +2 Commerce with 64 seats at Junior level and +3 Arts, +3 Science and Commerce in the honours subjects in Odia, Political Science in Arts, Chemistry in Science and also Accountancy in commerce at the Degree level with 16 seats each.

The College has obtained U.G.C. affiliation under 2F and 12B in the year 1997 and got financial assistance under various plan periods and made remarkable growth and development under various schemes of the UGC assistance. The College has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation council (NAAC) Bangalore in the year 2009. At first the College has received Grant-in-Aid from the state Govt. by way of Block-grant -in the year 2004 and at present the Department of Higher education, Odisha has been pleased to sanction Grant-in-Aid wef. 1994, to near about 30 employees of both teaching and non-teaching staff of the College.

The College has 6.22 acres of land with well-equipped science laboratories, a good library, hostel for the SC and ST students, sports and athletic facilities and a garden in side the camps. One large women's hostel an amount of 45 lakhs funded by UGC is under construction. The NSS unit for both male and female is working with organizing various welfare programmes and special camps throughout the years, The YRC is also doing its best and also organizing programmes time to time. There is a career counselling cell which is actively providing guidance to their students for their career prospects. The College instead of classroom teaching is also providing special remedial coaching classes to the SC, ST, OBC and general students in the holidays and vacations. Study tours, picnics are being organized by various departments for all round development of the students, National and state level seminars are being organized by various departments and a number of Academicians are invited to acquire extra knowledge and experience from them. All the stake holders of the College dedicatedly render their services not only academically but also with Co-curricular and extra Co-curricular activities throughout the working hours. The members of the staff, we dream of an educational institution which can fulfil the aspirations of the public and students of the locality.
