Malkangiri College, Malkangiri is situated in the remote point of southern Odisha . In the remotest village of Odisha surrounded by river Sileru on the south & river Saberi in the north, the college bears a milestone of higher education. Though late, by the popular will and craze for higher education, college was established in the year 1979.

The College started with 15 nos. of students, 8 teachers & 5 nos. of nonteaching staff with only I.A classes. Over the years continuous growth has now made the college a fully fledged one with Arts &Commerce wing having honours in Pol.science, History, English, and Economics in Arts. At Present there are 1011 nos. of students reading in our College,15 nos. of teaching staff and 15 nos. of Non-teaching staffs are rendering their services for the all round development of the institution.

The College has also obtained U.G.C affiliation under section 2F & 12B act on dated 01.02.1990. Since then the college has availed U.G.C assistance under different schemes & utilized the same for development of the college. With public contribution & assistance from BRGF fund the College has grown into a sizable institution catering to the needs of a large number of students. Also the college has received assistance from the Sports Ministry, Govt. of India and has established a well equipped Gymnasium in the college premises. The college has carved a rich in the field of education in Malkangiri District.

The enthusiastic Public, Co-Operative Alumni & the active G.B of the College extended their maximum co- operation in all positive thinking's for which we could be able to grow to the heights. The college is now preparing NAAC accreditation with full vigour and enthusiasm. In the meantime office automation and a good library is at our hand with the sincerity and enthusiasm of the members of the Staff, we dream of a College which can fulfil the aspirations of the Public and students of the locality.
