The college M.A.Mahavidyalaya, Lemalo was established in the Year 1978 being named after Mahapurusa Achyutananda, one of the great Saint and Poet of Panchasakha Age.The college was recognized by Higher Education Department,Govt of Odisa and affiliated by Utkal University for I.A.Claas from 1981-82.Later from 1983-84 +2 Arts with 128 seats was started. In 1984-85 the B.A.(2year Degree) and from 1985-86 (+3) classes was opened. In 1985-86 +2 Commerce with 64 seats was also opened. In 1987-88 the seats in +2 Arts was increased from 128 to 256 with Govt. recognition and CHSE affiliation. In 1992-93 the Honours classes in Pol.Sc. And Economics with 32 seats each in B.A. class was opened.
