Laxmikanta College, Bangriposi named after Laxmikanta Das, Local Educationist is situated on the Bank of river Budhabalanga at Bangriposi, the biggest block of Mayurbhanj. The river Budhabalanga is on the south & N.H.06 on the other side. The college bears a solitary look most befitting for a centre of Higher Education. Though late, with the popular will and craze for Higher Education the college was established in the year 1990. The long cherished dream of this locality ultimately materialized by the active co-operation of the people of Bangriposi in general and leadership of Laxmikanta Das, Ex-Headmaster, Bangriposi High School in particular. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Laxmikanta Das on 12th May 1990. Since then the College has not looked behind. On one side of the town stands the temple of learning in sylvan surrounding sprawling around more than 06 acres of land. To add to its beauty and serenity an original Tick-forest stands adjacent to the college. The College started with 128 nos. of students 6 teachers & 16 nos. of non teaching staff with only +2 Arts classes. Over the years continuous growth has now made the college a full fledged one with Arts, Science, & vocational wing having honours in Pol. Science, History, Education, Odia, in Arts and At Present there are 1008 nos. of students are reading in our College, 21 nos. of teaching staff and 19 nos. of Non-teaching staffs are rendering their services for the all round development of the institutions. The College has also obtained U.G.C affiliation under section 2F & 12B act on dated 20-11-2007. Since then the college has availed U.G.C assistance under different schemes & utilized the same for development of the college has grown into a sizable institution catering to the need of a large numbers of students. The college has carved a rich in the field of education in Mayurbhanj District. The enthusiastic Public, Co-Operative alumne & the Active G.B of the College extended their maximum co-operation in all positive thinking. In the meantime office automation and a good library is at our hand with the sincerity and enthusiasm of the members of the Staff. We dream of a College which can fulfill the aspirations of the Public and students of the locality.
