Kumanda Jarasingha Anchalika Panchayat Junior Mahavidyalaya was established in the year 1991 with the help and Co-operation of the local elites and some benevolent persons of Kumanda, Jarasingha and its adjacent Panchayats. Our institution stands  at the mid point of Kumanda and Jarasingha Grampanchayats. At the time of its inceptions the people of 8 Gram Panchayats gathered at an open field and committed to extend their co-operative hands for the establishment of an educational  institution and proposed to give its name Kumanda Jarasingha Anchalika Panchayat Mahavidyalaya, Saraswati Vihar, Kumanda, Angul. Our instituation is greatly indebted to the local M.L.As ,M.Ps, Educationist, Social Workers, dedicated G.B. Members and staffs who have contributed a lot in their respective spheres for the establishment of the college.

The College has got permanent recognition by DHE, Odisha, and permanent affiliation from Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha in +2 Arts stream with 160 seats. Our institution has been providing education in Arts stream  with Six (6) affiliated optional subjects and two (2) Compulsory subjects namely English, M.I.L. (O) , History, Political Science , Economics, Odia & Sanskrit with a cluster of  six (6) teaching staff and Eight (8) non teaching staff. The college is functioning in its own building. The local gentry have planted numerous trees around our college which reflects a peaceful ambience to the teaching system.

It is noteworthy that the college has been declared as an aided educational institution since 2010. Vide Govt. order -2008 with the Sub-Collector, Angul as the President and the Principal I/C as Principal Cum Secretary of the Governing Body. Our college is doing good result every year. The sole aim of our college is to impart quality education among the students of +2 Arts stream.

With numerous ups and downs over coming many hazards over the years, it is striving to be an ideal institution fulfilling the long cherished goals of the people of  the locality.  The poor guardians are getting chances to provide higher education to their sons and daughters through our institution.  Due to rapid growth of industrialization around our locality the demand for higher education through our institution increased enormously. The college is in its growing stage, it has to strive hard to become one of the famous institutions of the State. All of us must work together and co-operate with the administration to make our dream real one.
