Santhan Junior Mahavidyalaya was Established in 1988 with Sincere efforts of the local People. This Institution has been Christened in the Name of Santhan Mahavidyalaya, the greatest saint of yester years.The College has got Recognisation from the Govt. of Odisha in the year 1990. It is affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary Education in the same year. It has been imparting instruction for +2 Arts Course. Initially it receives Concurrence for 128 seats. But from 1992-93 Session there has been increase in seats from 128 to 256 for Students in +2 Arts. From 1988 to 2011 the College was governed by Private management efficiently with Chittaranjan Parida & Narayan Das as Secretary & Keshab Ch. Panda as President. Under Odisha Non-Govt. College Grant-in-Aid order 2008 this College received grant-in-aid in the shape of 40% block grant since January 2009. At present the College is governed by the Management with the Sub-Collector, President & Bijay Ku. Dash Principal-in-charge-cum-Secretary.

     This year (2011-12) the College Completes its 23rd year. The Present Student Strength of the College is about 510 with 9 Teaching Staff & 13 No-teaching Staff. Though the College is in its growing Stage. It has made much head way over the years & it is striving hard to emerge as one of the Prestigious institution in the state. The Present growth & vigor has been Possible due to the efforts of local people, staff & students. Hence this College is all set to fulfill the aspiration of the locality.
