The Vocational Education programme Aims imparting education at the Higher Secondary stage designed to create middle level personal who can become self employed by starting their own enterprises. Besides self employment, the vocational passouts may opt for jobs in Government/ Private sectors or may pursue higher studied. In order to spread Vocational Education in a disciplined and well regulated manner, a separate Directorate known as the Directorate of Vocational Education has been created under the Department of Higher Education with effect from 1.08.2000 having three Regional Offices established at Berhampur, Sambalpur and Bhubaneswar headded by Deputy Director.

     The Deputy Director, Regional Office of Vocational Education (RoVE), Sambalpur monitors the functioning of the 53 GVJCs under this region which includes the Districts I.e Sambalpur, Bargarh, Boudh, Balangir, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Subarnapur & Sundergarh. During the academic session 2010-11, 39 GVJCs are imparting teaching in 20 vocatioon trades in this region.
