Ramajee Mahavidyalaya, Bhismagiri located in a serene and pollution free environment on the outskirt of Bhismagiri, It was established in the year 1977 by the collective effort of the Luminaries and Leaders of the locality Sri Adikanda Panda, Sri Lambodaro Panigrahy, Sri Keshaba Ramanuja Das, Sri Kedarnath Dikhit and Sri Narasingha Brahma etc. with an aim to cater to the Higher educational needs of aspiring and prodigious poor students of Bhismagiri and other peripheral villages. The donations made by the Public were the main sources of raising funds required for opening of the college. Initially,the college was named as Bhismagiri College. Subsequently, the name was changed to Ramajee Mahavidyalaya as a mark of commemorative respect to the Ramajee Temple of Bhismagiri and its Priest Sri Keshab Ramanuj Das for the generous contribution of 11 acres of Land for the college site.During the early years of its inception, the college has gone through many hurdles. The financial aid from Bhismagiri Gram Panchayat and Kendu leaf grant from Government were the only sources of finance of the college, used for infrastructural development and management of the college.

     The College was started with Intermediate Arts & Commerce subjects having affiliated strength of 128 & 64 respectively with the affiliation of Berhampur University. Later during the year 1984,+2 Science was opened with an affiliated student strength of 64. The growing demand for the extention of higher education forced the management to open +3 Arts at degree level. Hence +3 Arts was introduced during the year 1998 having the take over strength of 64.To compete the prevailing competition for self employment vocational courses has been introduced. Steps are being taken by the management to introduce science & I.T. at +3 level.

     The college has been culminated to its present shape under the patronage of the local representative & the Minister, Shrijukta Surya Narayan Patro and from the U.G.C. of India from time to time.
