Jharigam Junior Mahavidyalaya, With a view to open a +2 College in Jharigam, Jharigam Mahavidyalaya, Jharigam in the tribal district of Nabarangpur, Odisha opened by Srijukta Bhagaban Majhi, Ex-M.P (R.S.) in the year 1995. The interest and co-operation of the local people of Jharigam, the foundation stone of the college was laid by Srijukta Bhagaban Majhi, Ex-M.P (R.S.) on 13th Sept. 1995.Since then the Mahavidyalaya has not looked behind.

This institution started with 32 nos. of students 5 teachers & 5 nos. of nonteaching staff with only +2 Arts classes for the session 1995-96. Over the years continuous growth has now made the college 40% Block Grant one with +2 Arts At Present there are 384 nos. of students are reading in our College,5 nos. of teaching staff and 5 nos. of Non-teaching staffs are rendering their services for the all-round development of the institutions.

We have an N.S.S. Unit functioning in our institutions since 2003 and Y. R. C. Unit since 2002.The College has also obtained C.H.S.E. affiliation since 1996. Since then the college has availed M.P. LAD, M.L.A. LAD and BRGF fund the College has grown into a sizable institution catering to the need of a large numbers of students.
