J.K. Mahavidyalaya Risida a non Govt. College in Karlamunda block of orissaKalahandi  was established in 1986. The college accorded with concurrence from Govt. of Odisha Edn. & youth services in 1987 was granted affiliation in +2 Stream in the same session 1987-88. The college has been granted permanent recognition W.e.f 2003-04 session for +2 Arts .The college become eligible for full GIA w.e.f . 1-06-94 as per GIA order 1994 in February 2004 by a new GIA order 2004 the college has been brought in GIA (Block Grant) fold w.e.f. 1-1-2004. The process to bring this college under GIA fold w.e.f. 1-6-1994 (Direct Payment) is on in the department of Higher Education. As on today the college has a recognized and affiliated strength of 128 Seats in +2 Arts class under department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha.
