About Ramanarayan Junior College Dura Ganjam

 Our vision is to make this institution a nodal college with better infrastructure facilities and a competitive study atmosphere. Our mission is to supply opportunity for higher education to the poor meritous students at an affordable cost, who desire to pursue their studies. At present 95% of students admitted annually, belongs to poor, SC, ST category. In collaboration with the Govt. of Odisha the college provides scholarship to SC/ST students in every academic year. Our goal is to increase the literacy level of the locality and give utmost importance to quality education with best classroom teaching and also to spread the message among the rural people that 'Education adds value to your life'.

3. Ramanarayan college, Dura was established in 1983 by a group of elite and enthusiastic localities, backed by a noble mission of enhancing education in the locality. The college commenced from the academic session of 1984-85 with +2 Arts (128seats) but immediately after a few years i.e. 1990-91 it introduced +2 Science and +2 commerce in the budding institution, 128 seats in Sc and 64 seats in Commerce. The college is registered under the Societies registration Act 1860. The CHSE, Odisha has attached Govt. Vocational Junior College which is functioning under the control of Ramanarayan (Junior ) College, Dura, since 2003-04. For +2 courses the college is affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa.

4. The college is managed by a Governing body presided by the Sub-Collector of Berhampur. The principal of the college, who is also the secretary of the college Governing body manages the day to day affairs of the institution. The college is run under the guidelines of the CHSE Odisha, Director of Higher Education AND Govt. of Higher Education from time to time.

   The main aim & objective of this institution is to disseminate the knowledge to the student in different fields of Education and over all development of the students in the spear of Physical, moral and mental aspects. Games and sports are also an integral part of this institution which inspires the students, to be physically fit.

Inspite of that, the Red Cross, NSS, etc. incite figure and enthusiasm and feeling of national integration in the student. The college also publishes a bilingual college magazine to develop the creativity among the students and doing departmental seminars which is essential in society.
