The College was born on 10.08.1990 named as Panchayat College Barangakachhar, started functioning at Barangakachhar High School Barangakachhar till 1993. It continued as a Private College till 14.05.2Oll. The Government of Odisha notifies Panchayat (Junior) College, Barangakachhar is an aided educational institution to receive Block Grant (40%) on 15.05.2011. The college is imparting +2 Arts and +2 Science which is recognized by Govt. of Odisha and affiliated to C.H.S.E. (0) Bhubaneswar with 128 and 64 seats respectively. It obtained permanent Govt. Recognition for +2 Arts stream w.e.f. 2002-2003 vide order no.3513/RDE Dt.25.06.2002 and for +2 Science stream 2002-03 vide order no. 3512/ Dtd 25.06.2002. It obtained permanent affiliation with CHSE (O) from 1996-97 vide Order No. 1211/Dt.05.02.2008 for +2 Arts and+2 Science.
