The main objectives of the Institution are:

a. To provide access of qualitative higher education to the rural students
b. Disseminate knowledge to the students in Arts.
c. To promote values in the students.
d. To promote higher education of rural girls.

 Chandahandi is a tribal sub-plan block situated 120 KM from District Head Quarter Nabarangpur. It is also a boarder is nearer to Chhattisgarh State. The dark blue gurgling water of the consecrated river (The Telanadi) washing its holly feet. On the momentous day. I.e. 8^th August 1991 the educational institution was founded  by Late, Jadav Majhi, the then Minister of Govt. of Odisha. So the inhabitants of this area found ultimately their long cherished dreams of gateways to higher education. Passing through many ups and downs, tribals and tribulations the institution has grown into a matured, developed and healthy institution. The junior college starting with a student strength of 64 has crossed a strength of five hundred students now.The teachers, students and all who are sole actors to lead this institution into the grand shape of full fledge, academically advanced and prosperous temple of wisdom. The spectacular development do the collage has been accelerated by the timely and ge3nious assistance of Honorable member of state Legislative Assembly Mr. Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Minister govt. of Odisha. The collage may look small but it greenly surrounding around inculcates more peace and commitment to the ushering in of a full blossomed institution.
