In Our crest the name of the college with the year of
establishment has been inscribed. The motto of
the college, have taken from "UPANISHAD" and whose meaning is
"Education is that whose end product is salvation". An Open book signifies study and research. A lightening
lamp reveals to be used to end the darkness of illiteracy and ignorance by
lighting more and more for which there will be wide spread of higher education
for the cause. At the bottom
there is some water and from that a blooming lotus. It means, the worldly life
is full of sorrows and sufferings and only wisdom can give happiness and all
the rest are meaningless. Wisdom is compared with Lotus and sorrowful worldly
life with mud and dirty things. So, salvation can be achieved through wisdom. The college saw
the light of the day on 31st August
1992. with a small student strength of 84 and was inaugurated by the then
speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly, Sri Yudhisthir Das. The classes of +2
Arts stream have been started with an intake capacity of 128 and imparts
teaching in six optional subjects, i.e., Political Science, History, Economics,
Oriya, Education and Sanskrit.The main objective of this institution is to disseminate
knowledge to the students in different fields. Simultaneously this institution
also aims at the overall development of the students; physical, mental and
moral. State and National level Seminar and extramural lecturers are organized
time to time for the betterment of the students. Games and Sports are also an
integral part of this institution which inspires the students to be physically
fit.
