Ekalavya Model Residential School was established on 15 July 2000 at Pungar, Kunduli, Koraput by OMTES.The Odisha Model Tribal Education Society (OMTES) a registered society supported by the ST & SC dev. Department, aims to make positive interventions in the field of tribal education. Since its inception in March 2000, it has been instrumental in setting up eleven Ekalavya Model Residential Schools in different parts of the state with assistance from Government of India.
