Baba Baneswar (Junior) Mahavidyalaya is situated 15KMs away from Bonai Sub-Division Head quarter of Sundergarh District. It was during 1992-93 that the College was started by some educationists & social workers of the locality. Baba Baneswar Junior college got temporary recognition & affiliation from the beginning. Later on the college has received permanent recognition & affiliation. Now it is redesignated as Baba Baneswar (Junior) Mahavidyalaya with code no. 30043102. The CHSE(O) has allotted code no. PA01 for the purpose of conducting council examination.

     The College is situated in an area where 80 percent of population is dominated by SC., ST. & economically backward people. Despite non availability of infrastructure facilities then, now the college is having a building with five class rooms, office & one storyed building for hostel facility. The college is maintaining high standard of education in a healthy academic atmosphere.

     There are seven faculty members striving hard to bring about a radical development of the students. The college has only +2 Arts stream.
