The Junior College P.S.H.S. School, Danra, Barkote was founded in the year 1987 and was affiliated to CHSE Odisha in the year 1988. The College was primarily under private management and was taken over by the Govt. in 1994. In the beginning, the College was housed in a building of P.S. High School Danra. Today the College is proud of having an independent building of its own. Now the strength of the College has gone up.

     In the year 1988 the College could not take in all the interested applicants for admission into +2 1st yr. Arts Classes with 64 seats. The Govt. was kind enough to increase the number of seats from 64 to 128 in +2 1st yr. Arts Classes in the year 1991, Again the Govt. was pleased and allowed to open +2 Sc stream from the session 195-96 with 64 seats
