Panchayat Samiti College , Raighar is situated at Raighar in the Nabarangpur district and the border of Odisha which is connected to the neighbour state of Chhatisgarh . This college was established in the year 1997. The long cherished dream of this locality ultimately materialized by the active co- operation of the people of Raighar in general leadership of Janab Habibulla Khan (Ex minister of Odisha ) and Smt. Parama Pujari (Ex minister) in particular. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Janab Habibulla Khan which was decided in the preparatory meeting held at Parua Shiv Temple on 25/05/1997 since then the active steps of Giridhari Pattnaik, Prafulla kumar Bhuyan, Satyanarayan Jhanwar, Chhtarsai Majhi, Ramakanta Das, Pannalal Sing, Sivnath Banarjee and many other local people made fulfill to establish such educational institution and to gave chance to saw the Sun shine of Higher education for the local Tribal students.
The college started with 42 nos. of students 5 teachers and 6 nos. of non teaching staff with only +2 classes. Over the years continuous growth has now made the college a full fledged one with Arts, Commerce wing having odia, History, Political science, Economics opt. subjects in arts and Accounting, BSM. BSEO, DEBK opt subjects in commerce stream. At present there are 192 students in Arts and 64 students in Commerce including seven teaching staffs both in Arts and Commerce stream with eight nos. of non teaching staffs are rendering their services for the all round development of the institution.
The college has also obtained permanent recognisation and permanent Affiliation from the higher education department of Odisha and CHSE Odisha on the year 1998.
The enthusiastic public co-operative autumn and the Active G B of the college extended their maximum co- operation in all positive thinking's has craved a rich in the field of education in Raighar block as well as to fulfill the aspirations of the public and students of locality.
